Pastor Report

Dear Church Family of Midwest Bible Church,

As we gather our hearts and reflections for this annual report, I begin with deep gratitude overflowing from my soul. Thank you—each and every one of you who has served so faithfully as volunteers and ministry leaders throughout 2025. Your tireless commitment, whether in the quiet behind-the-scenes tasks or in visible leadership roles, has been the hands and feet of Christ among us. God sees your labor of love, and we as a church are profoundly blessed because of it. To our teachers, youth workers, Awana leaders, camp staff, school staff, and so many others: thank you for pouring out your lives for the sake of the Gospel and the next generation.

As we look back on 2025, we rejoice in how the Lord built upon the foundation He laid in previous years. Last year’s report highlighted young Melody Solis’ powerful testimony, which beautifully illustrated how our ministries, especially those focused on children and youth, continue to make an eternal difference. I’m thankful to report that those same ministries remain vibrant and impactful: our school, the camp, Awana, and many others are touching the lives of thousands of children and young people. Last year, under the guidance and leadership of Andrew Catrinta (elder), and the help of other young adults, we added a junior high component to our Awana program. Praise God for this much needed ministry. You can read more details of God’s work in their respective annual reports, alongside the stories from our other ministries. We praise God for His ongoing faithfulness!

We are also grateful to witness the Holy Spirit moving in hearts across our congregation, especially young adults. Many are not only participating in our discipleship programs—such as Next Level, SCTS (School of Christian Theological Studies), and Life Groups—but are growing deeper in their walk with the Lord and stepping up to serve in various capacities. New leaders are emerging, and faith is being strengthened. This is evidence of God’s grace at work among us.

Building directly on last year’s call to invest in the next generation, the Lord has led us into 2026 with a deepened and focused theme: Interceding for the Next Generation. This echoes and extends our 2025 emphasis on investing relationally and prayerfully. Psalm 145:4 declares, “One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.” As we commend God’s works through intentional investment, we recognize that fervent intercession is the vital fuel for that legacy. Prayer is not secondary; it is the very means by which we join Christ’s own ministry.

Our great High Priest, Jesus Christ, “always lives to make intercession” for us (Hebrews 7:25). He ever pleads our cause before the Father, saving us to the uttermost as we draw near through Him. This truth anchors our hope and compels our response. Just as Jesus intercedes unceasingly for His people, we are called to take on His priestly heart and intercede—especially for the next generation.

Like Daniel and his friends in Babylon, facing pressures to assimilate into a godless culture, our children, teens, and young adults encounter similar challenges today: worldly influences through media, education, peers, and societal expectations that seek to erode their faith and identity in Christ. Yet Daniel “purposed in his heart” not to defile himself (Daniel 1:8), stood firm in faithfulness, and interceded passionately for God’s people. God granted him favor, wisdom, and influence. Because our Priest-King lives to intercede, we have confident hope that He will do the same for this generation as we join Him in prayer.

Let’s believe God for another great awakening, and let us do our part to see it come to pass—especially among the next generation.

Here are specific ways we can pray and act, led by the Holy Spirit:
  • Protection from cultural assimilation and worldly pressures.
  • Daniel-like resolve to purpose in their hearts for God.
  • Godly friendships, mentors, and influences that build faith.
  • Wisdom, discernment, and insight in schools, media, and decisions.
  • Revival—hungry hearts that draw near to God.
  • Parents, leaders, and this church to intercede faithfully and model prayer.
  • That, upheld by Christ’s intercession, they would stand set apart, shine as lights, and grow into intercessors for future generations.

Church, Jesus lives to intercede for us and for them. His endless advocacy empowers our prayers. As we draw near to Him, He refines our faith, grants us grace in weakness, and invites us to stand in the gap (Ezekiel 22:30) for the young ones He loves so deeply.

Let us commit afresh in 2026 to this dual calling: investing our lives relationally in the next generation while interceding boldly on their behalf. May we see God raise up a generation that knows Him deeply, loves Him passionately, and intercedes for the one after them.

I love you, I’m deeply thankful for you, and I’m expectant for what the Lord will do as we intercede together.

For the next generation—and for His eternal glory,
Pastor Marco David
