Marks of a True Believer

There is no addition to the Gospel to earn salvation. Any gospel that claims otherwise is not the real Gospel. The Philippians encountered a false Gospel with the Judaizers, who believed that salvation came from believing in Jesus and then following the rest of Mosaic law. The Gospel brings joy to the believer. It does not bring worry out of doing something wrong or not following a list completely. It is a gift. Believers rejoice in God. They worship Him in Spirit. They are not confident in themselves, and they boast only in Jesus Christ.

Big Idea: True believers put their confidence in Christ, not in self.
